Earlier this week, a fundraiser in honor of fallen police detective Jonathan Diller took place at Mulcahy’s Pub & Concert Hall in Wantagh, NY. The pro bono public relations efforts of The EGC Group helped spread awareness of this fundraiser. This resulted in a huge turnout where attendees paid their respects and offered generous contributions. Image Credit: FOX News This past March, Detective Diller was tragically murdered in the line of duty during a traffic stop in Far Rockaway, Queens. A devoted husband and father, the Detective Jonathan Diller Scholarship Fund was organized as a tribute to him by giving back. First announced last month, coverage of this fundraiser was reported in a wide range of news outlets that included CBS 2, ABC 7, Pix 11, Newsday/NewsdayTV, Long Island Business News, Patch, Massapequa Post (Richner Newspapers), and 1010 WINS, among many others. Most recently, this event was covered in the New York Post, Greater Long Island, Patch, Newsday, News12, and Herald Community Newspapers. The turnout was indeed impressive. “He had a special way of making everyone feel important,” Detective Diller’s widow, Stephanie, said of her husband to FOX News. “And it’s no surprise that so many people came out to support him, because he gave so much love.” Proceeds of the fundraiser will go to Detective Diller’s alma mater, St. Mary’s High School, with the purpose of supporting students attain a quality education on an annual basis.
