The EGC Group recently won a prestigious award for the 2024 PR Campaign of the Year from the Public Relations Professionals of Long Island (PRPLI). Accepting the award on behalf of the Agency was Christopher Collora, Public Relations Manager at EGC. This win resulted from a pro bono campaign promoted by Christopher and his PR team for the Detective Jonathan Diller Scholarship Fund. Last year, NYPD Detective Jonathan Diller was killed in the line of duty in Queens, NY. EGC’s PR efforts helped spread the word about this campaign to major and local community media outlets throughout the New York Metropolitan region. These efforts contributed to the raising of over $70,000—in less than two month—for the Detective Jonathan Diller Scholarship Fund for student scholarships to St. Mary’s High School in Port Washington, which was Detective Diller’s alma mater. At the PRPLI celebratory awards luncheon, held this past Wednesday at Westbury Manor, Christopher gave a heartfelt speech in front of approximately one hundred PR professionals that drew tremendous applause as he proudly accepted the award. To complement this win, Ernie Canadeo, Chairman and Founder of The EGC Group, stated: “We are thrilled to be awarded for our pro bono efforts promoting this very special cause. Kudos to Christopher Collora and his public relations team for their outstanding efforts obtaining extensive coverage and generating over $70,000 in scholarship funding.
